A friend of my mother gave this painting as a gift when she returned to live in Mexico city many years ago. I would like to learn more about this artist and his life.

This painting is very beautiful, but I noticed it looks a lot like Diego Rivera's "Child and Calla Lilies." I do not know a lot about Mexican art, but perhaps it is a replica of Rivera's painting?
That work is not from Rivera. Luis Vezcali is the pseudonym used by my mother, Rosa Puente. She painted many pictures with that name because she thought she would sell them at a better price. She still lives (she is 90 years old) and in my house I have many pictures of her.
